Mardi Gras aka Fat Tuesday falls on February 13th this year. The actual date varies year to year depending when Easter occurs. While Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans are well known for colorful floats, beads, and vibrant traditions, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is also known as Carnival in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
